SharePoint Enterprise CAL

What is SharePoint Server Enterprise CAL?

SharePoint Enterprise CAL is not a standalone SharePoint product. It extends the base SharePoint Standard CAL rights for users or devices that need the broader enterprise feature set available in on-premises SharePoint licensing.

This product belongs to the SharePoint category and should be evaluated according to its actual Microsoft licensing model rather than generic software descriptions. Buyers typically compare edition scope, access rights, deployment style, and long-term fit before purchasing.

Licensing Model for SharePoint Server Enterprise CAL

SharePoint Server Enterprise CAL follows a enterprise cal add-on for sharepoint access model. That means organizations should review whether the purchase is based on users, devices, CAL access, server cores, or perpetual desktop deployment before finalizing procurement.

Core Features of SharePoint Server Enterprise CAL

  • Enterprise access licensing for SharePoint Server.
  • Typically layered on top of SharePoint Standard CAL.
  • Separate from the SharePoint Server software license.
  • Used for advanced SharePoint Server feature rights.
  • Supports structured on-premises SharePoint licensing.
  • Suitable for enterprise collaboration and portal scenarios.

Why Choose SharePoint Server Enterprise CAL?

SharePoint Server Enterprise CAL Licensing & Pricing

SharePoint Server Enterprise CAL is sold according to Microsoft commercial licensing rules for its product family. Final pricing can vary by reseller, agreement type, region, subscription term, and whether the purchase is made through CSP, volume licensing, or another authorized Microsoft channel.

  • Licensing type: Enterprise CAL add-on for SharePoint access.

  • Commercial availability depends on Microsoft channel and region.
  • Some products require qualifying licenses, CALs, or additional core counts.
