Rojgar Manch

WordPress and Next.js Website Redesign for a News Portal in Nepal

Rojgar Manch is a Nepalese news and digital media platform covering employment, foreign employment, careers, national affairs and other current topics. With more than 30,000 news articles published since 2018, the platform needed a faster, modern website that could handle its extensive content archive while preserving existing news and search engine visibility.

Webtech Nepal redesigned and rebuilt Rojgar Manch using WordPress as the backend and Next.js for the frontend. The project involved retaining over 30,000 news articles dating back to 2018, preserving their original URLs and associated images, improving website performance and creating a better reading experience across devices.

Project Case Study

The Challenge

Rojgar Manch’s previous website was built entirely on WordPress. With an archive of more than 30,000 news articles dating back to 2018, the publication needed a modern design and faster website without disrupting its existing content or daily publishing operations.

One of the biggest challenges was preserving years of published news, including original article URLs and images. Changes to the URL structure or missing media files could have resulted in broken links, lost access to older stories and potential search ranking declines.

The client needed a faster, better-organized news website while maintaining its extensive archive and allowing the editorial team to continue publishing through WordPress.

Our Approach

We rebuilt Rojgar Manch using a headless WordPress architecture, keeping WordPress as the backend for news publishing and using Next.js to develop the frontend.

This approach allowed the editorial team to continue working with WordPress while giving us greater flexibility to improve the website’s design, content presentation and frontend performance.

One of our main priorities was protecting the existing news archive. We carefully handled more than 30,000 articles, retaining their original URLs and associated images in the redesigned website. This helped preserve access to older content and reduce the SEO risks that often come with large website migrations.

We also redesigned the homepage, news categories and article pages to create a cleaner reading experience. News stories, employment updates, publications and other content are now presented through a more organized layout that works across desktop and mobile devices.

Website speed was another major focus. We optimized the frontend to improve page loading and navigation, helping visitors browse news content more smoothly.

The Result

The redesigned Rojgar Manch website combines WordPress content management with a modern Next.js frontend, delivering faster page loading and a smoother reading experience.

More than 30,000 news articles published since 2018 were preserved, including their original URLs and associated images. This allowed the publication to introduce a completely new design without losing years of valuable news content.

The website also experienced improved search engine rankings following the redesign, while the editorial team continued managing and publishing news through WordPress.

The project demonstrates Webtech Nepal’s ability to modernize large news platforms, improve performance and protect existing content and search visibility during a major website rebuild.
